FAQ

useopengraph vs. Placid, answered

The flat price matches ($19/mo either way), but the contents don't. Placid's $19 buys 500 rendered images and nothing else. useopengraph's $19 buys 500 OG image generations plus 2 site audits a month, 50 AI credits for alt-text and meta-description generation, 25 branded trackable sharing links, and access to the WordPress and Shopify integrations. Same sticker price, different amount of product.

At list price, yes: $0.0156/image on Placid Pro ($39/mo) vs. $0.0098/image on our Growth plan ($49/mo) — actually ours is already cheaper per image at that volume too, and Growth includes everything Placid doesn't: audits, split testing, sharing-link analytics, and the WordPress/Shopify integrations.

Breadth of output format and no-code automation. Placid generates PDFs and video assets in addition to images, and connects directly to Zapier-style workflow tools for triggering generation from other apps. If your need is "turn a webhook into a marketing graphic across many formats," that's Placid's core use case, not ours.

Yes. Placid renders whatever image its template produces — it doesn't crawl your site for missing or broken metadata, doesn't offer built-in A/B testing between image variants, and doesn't track clicks on a branded link. Those are useopengraph-specific product surfaces, not something Placid's API exposes.
